Hugh J. Doherty, of 806 Shawnee Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, age 71, passed away at 4:10 a.m., September 5, at St. Margaret's Hospital.

He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Doherty; seven sons, James W. Doherty of 2901 Lafayette Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, Hugh J. Doherty Jr. of 731 Tenney Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, Charles A. Doherty of 726 Troup Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, John P. Doherty of 2621 Belleview in Kansas City, Missouri, Thomas M. Doherty of Caracas, Venezuela, South America, Joseph E. Doherty of Los Angeles, California, Francis A. Doherty of 1214 Osage Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, John Doherty, of 250 North 23rd Street in Kansas City, Kansas; and 25 grandchildren.

Funeral services were on Wednesday morning from the home and at 8:15 o'clock from St. Thomas Church at Pyle Street and Shawnee Avenue. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Daniels Bros., funeral directors.
