OBITUARY

Rev. Howard Weston Jamison, D.D., 80 of 408 Elm St., Indiana, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, Aug. 21, 1980, at the Indiana Hospital.

A son of William L. and Ortella (Mercer) Jamison, he was born Feb. 26, 1900, at East Rochester, Beaver County.

He had been residing in Indiana for the past 15 years and had served as an associate minister at Grace United Methodist Church until his retirement in 1965, at which time he became minister of visitations. He attained complete retirement from the ministry in 1979 after serving 62 years.

Dr. Jamison received his early education at the East Rochester and Rochester area schools. He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Academy. In pursuing his ministerial education, he received his B.S.degree in education from the West Virginia Wesleyan College. He was graduated from the Boston University School of Theology in 1928 with a S.T.B. degree, received his S.T.M degree in 1929 and received his Doctorate degree from the West Virginia Wesleyan College at Buckhannon, W.Va., in 1951.

In his ministerial career, Dr. Jamison served in many churches beginning his career at Confluence, encompassing both Johnston Chapel and Harnedsville; he later served at Brownsville, Homewood Junction-Hoytdale, Beechview, Springdale, Connellsville, Turtle Creek, Arnold, Latrobe, Swissvale, Blairsville, Chippewa and the Wesleyan Chapel at Jacob's Creek.

Surviving are his widow, Veda B. Jamison; a daughter Mrs. Raymond (Deborah J.) Justham, New Kensington; a grandson, Douglas Justham, two granddaughters, Mrs. Bruce (Rebecca) Boehm and Kimberley Justham, a great-grandson, Christopher Boehm, all of New Kensington; three brothers: Charles R. Jamison of Rochester, William M. Jamison of Beaver, Edgar Jamison of Cape Coral, Fla; a sister, Mrs. Marie Burton, Rochester.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Wilcox Jamison on Feb. 3, 1974.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 12 noon until 4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Frank Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana. Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted from Grace United Methodist Church on Monday, and complete service information will be announced in tomorrow's edition of the Gazette.
