Cynthia Gay Brookman Bowman, age 65, of Gray, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Pulaski County, Virginia to the late Earl H. Brookman and Rebecca Jane Pugh Brookman.

Cynthia was a lifelong resident of the area, and was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and loved working with the kids. She and her husband, Ronald, were foster parents for 12 years, and she loved her family and church and loved especially reading the Bible. She loved to sew.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by family members, Ronald Brookman, Nora Brookman Grindstaff, and Cheyenne Dykes Ketron, and her aunt, Dorothy Simms.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald Bowman; children, Michelle Bowman Cooper and husband, Chris, of Fall Branch, TN, Michael Bowman and wife, Tina, of Gray, TN, and Christie Magnus, of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Samantha Cooper, Sierra Bowman, Dakota Bowman, and Jacob Magnus; brothers and sisters, Leonard Brookman, Ernest Brookman, Barbara Dykes, Trisha Smith, and Linda Bushong; her best friend, Daphne Lockhart, and Sue Cox (Dec.).

The family of Cynthia Bowman will recieve friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Blountville Chapel, with services to follow at 7:00 P.M. from our chapel with Dr. Amos Lockhart, Rev. Travis Pierson, and Rev. Earl Hulse officiating. Special music will be provided by her best friend, Daphne Lockhart.
Graveside rites will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dakota Bowman, Roger Combs, Chris Cooper, Mike Bowman, Frank Waldo, Brian Waldo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Tucker and Jimmy Chandler.
