Funeral Services for Mr. William Marvin Davis, 86 year old Celeste resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Charles Wrenn will officiate. Burial will be in the Celeste/Hogeye Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today.

Mr. Davis was born May 2, 1927 at Foreman, Arkansas. His parents were Amos A. and Claudia Donia Ann Morphew Davis. He married Iva Mae Dunson on Aug. 22, 1949 at Langley, Arkansas. He worked in the painting/dry wall business. He was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God and was very involved in prison ministry, as well as nursing home ministry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed spending time with his family and participating in the activities at the Hogeye Community Center. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. He passed away at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham Friday Dec. 27, 2013.

He is survived by his son: Phillip Davis and wife Diana of Celeste; his daughters: Debra Davis of Celeste, Donna Brown of Nevada and Sue Lamm and husband Jim Eudy of Celeste; his sister: Ethel Perkins of Texarkana, TX; his sister-in-law: Mildred Golden of Victoria; his grandchildren: Misty Dodson and husband David, Jackie Brown and wife, Amber, Crystal Brown and husband, Chad, Jeffrey Wayne Davis and wife, Lacey, Josh Brown and Joe Brandon Brown; his great-grandchildren: Caleb and Caden Brown, Jaycee and Koby Brown; Andrew and William Davis, Devon and Dylan Brown; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. Davis, and five brothers and sisters.
