Harriett Hassetline Green is the daughter of William Joseph Green b. 12/07/1794 in Barnwell, S.C. d. 07/19/1856 in Florida (possibly Columbia County) and Mary Elizabeth Dicks b. abt. 1803 in Barnwell, S.C. and d. 03/21/1876 in Columbia Co., Florida. William and Mary married on 01/25/1818 in Barnwell County, South Carolina. They had the following children that were all born in South Carolina: Anson Reuben Green b. abt. 1823; Caroline Green b. abt. 1825; William Joseph Green b. 08/03/1827;Thomas Jefferson Green b. 09/30/1830; Martha I. Green b. abt. 1833; Sarah Green b. abt. 1834; Martin Green b. abt. 1835; Harriett Hassetline Green b. 03/12/1835; Luther Judson Green b. abt. 1837; Alexander C. Green b. 07/31/1841; George Washington Green b. 10/08/1844; and James Oliver Green b. 03/05/1848. Harriett married William Joseph Owens on Nov. 02, 1853 in Barnwell Co., S.C. and they migrated to Florida and settled in what is now the Osceola National Forest.
