Mary Algeo married John Rowley in 1816 at Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1826 she is listed as a Seamstress in Pittsburgh City Directory at S s Librerty above 7th, this is location of Algeo early business’s. By 1840 in the census, she is listed next door to son, Thos. A. Rowley, North Ward, with Alexr Hunter, 2 males & 3 daughters that may or not be hers. By 1850, Alexr is gone and she is living with her son Thomas Rowley, street commissioner, Mary Hunter, age 59 born in Ireland, Ward 6. By 25 June 1860, she is still in the house of Thomas A. Rowley, clerk of court, age 70, born in Ireland, Ward 6. Allegheny Cemetery list her death date as 1860, this will make her having lived to the age of 70, with her son having taken care of her at least 15 years. She is buried in the same Section as Gen’l Thomas Algeo Rowley.
