Millie Wilcox Smith, age 94, passed away August 24, 2005 in Nephi, Utah.

She was born August 4, 1911 in Archer, Idaho, the last of ten children born to David Oswell and Melissa McCullough Wilcox. Her early life was spent living on her family's ranch in Idaho. She loved riding horses and helping with chores. She met Joseph L. Smith while living and working in Salt Lake City. They were married December 13, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 27, 1991. They were the parents of three children, Walt, Doug and Lynette. She loved being with her family. She was delighted by her 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served a mission to the Western States Mission enjoying her time there. She held many positions in both stake and ward levels. She was well read in scriptures and a great teacher of the doctrine. She had a talent to motivate and encourage people when they were down. She was a problem solver. She was creative and had an optimistic attitude and always looked for the good. She enjoyed doing handwork, fishing, riding in the mountains, solitude, music, friends visiting, books and stories and especially her family. She loved to tell stories. She was a talented entertainer giving both dramatic and humorous readings.

She is survived by her family, Walt (Karen) of Archer, Idaho; Doug (Debbie) Smith of Nephi; Lynette (Dan) Warner of Nephi; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services were held at 11a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 N 100 W. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
