Minnie Mae Cooper, 82, a true servant of the Lord, was born in Atkinson County, Georgia, on August 7, 1929. She moved to Waycross, Georgia as a young woman where she lived until moving to Huntsville, Alabama, in 2002, to live with her daughter, Tracie Cooper McKelvin.

She was the daughter of the late George and Janie Cooper. She was preceded in death by three other siblings, two brothers: Thaddeus Cooper and Joseph Cooper; one sister: Mary Elizabeth Joseph; and one sister-in-law: Etta Mae Cooper.

Early in life, she accepted her salvation. She was a former member of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church where she faithfully served as a strong and true alto in the Senior Choir and she was also member of the Spiritual Delights Community Choir, which was founded and directed by the late Rev. Bernard Benson, Sr.

She was a devoted mother of four children. She was easy to love, a cheerful giver, an awesome listener and a great friend to many. She was greatly cherished and respected by all who knew her.

She leaves to celebrate her memories: a sister, Gladys Cooper of Waycross, Georgia, one sister-in-law, Bertha Cooper of Melbourne, Florida; two daughters and sons–in-law, Tracie Cooper (Jerome) McKelvin of Huntsville, Alabama, and Rhonda Cooper (Craig) Brown of McDonough, Georgia; two sons and daughter–in-law, George (Margaret) Holmes, Sr., of Waycross, Georgia, and Michael Cooper of Rochester, New York; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 1pm on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Refiner's Fire Church Ministries with (Oakwood Ave, Huntsville, AL) Pastor Leslie Eno officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Ms. Cooper will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Visitation will be 4:30-5:30pm on Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Royal Chapel of Memories. Public Viewing will be held from 12Noon-8pm on Friday, December 9. 2011; and from 8:30-11:15am on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Royal Funeral Home.
