He was born in Middleburg, Ohio July 27, 1916, to the late Pleasant Otho and Lucretia E. (Marquis) Losey. He married the former ZellaAnn Carpenter April 13, 1949, in Bellefontaine and she preceded him in death December 2, 1980. Ivan was also preceded in death by a daughter Connie L. Vice in 2011, and brothers Andrew Herman Losey and John C. Losey.
Ivan is survived by his second wife, Lucille M. (Hathcock) Losey of Bellefontaine, whom he married May 18, 1986 in Bellefontaine; his children, Ivan Howard Losey of Ohio, Ruth Ann (Ken) Cundey of Social Circle, Georgia, and Thomas P. (Rebecca) Losey of Bellefontaine; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Ivan was a 1935 graduate of Middleburg High School. He was a retired farmer and had also worked thirteen years at Rockwell International. Ivan was a member of the Gretna Brethren Church in Bellefontaine. He supported the Logan County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Tri-County Community Action Commission. Ivan loved to fish, tell stories and play the harmonica.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 2 to 4 P.M. with the funeral service at 4 P.M. officiated by Pastor Larry Brown. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio
