LeRoy B. Gerstenkorn, 79, died February 22, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas.

He was born October 7, 1928 at Odin, Kansas, the son of Phillip and Louise Schremmer Gerstenkorn.

He married Patricia Campbell August 10, 1949 at Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Barton County, Kansas, moving to Great Bend from Beaver,

Mr. Gerstenkorn was the co-owner of City Ice, Great Bend.

Mr. Gerstenkorn was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and the Knights of Columbus, both of Great Bend.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of the home; one son, Kevin Gerstenkorn and wife, Colleen, Wichita, Kansas; four daughters, Deborah Daniel and husband, Mark, Sue Hemphill and husband, Brad, Lisa Seiwert and husband, Bernie, and Jennifer Hoskins and husband, Kendall, all of Great Bend, Kansas; four sisters, Gemella Esfeld, Great Bend, Kansas, Joan Gorman, Salina, Kansas, Alice Birch, Topeka, Kansas, and Patsy Lang, Lancaster, California; ten grandchildren, Brandon Hemphill, Matthew Daniel, Brett Hemphill, Kendra Hoskins, Tyler Gerstenkorn, Hannah Seiwert, Kayla Hoskins, Emily Seiwert, Braden Gerstenkorn, and Breann Gerstenkorn; and one great-granddaughter, Adalyn Hemphill.

Mr. Gerstenkorn was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Gerstenkorn; and one sister, Helen McAllister.

Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008 with Knights of Columbus Rosary at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials in Mr. Gerstenkorn's name are suggested to Southwind Hospice, Inc., or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, both in care of the funeral home.
