Henriques, Sr., 87, retired attorney, will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 4127 S. Claiborne. Mr. Henriques died Monday night at his home. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park. Mr. Henriques died after a long illness. Mr. Henriques had served in a number of federal positions and specialized on maritime and admiralty law. He had been regional attorney for War Shipping Administration and Maritime Commission during World War II. He also served as special assistant in admiralty to the attorney general of the United States and to the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Mr. Henriques was a graduate of the Tulane University School of Law and had practiced with the late Charles Augustus Dechamp de Chatigne for 50 years. He was an unsuccessful candidate for State Supreme Court in 1921 and a lecturer on admiralty law at Loyola University. Mr. Henriques is survived by his widow, the former Lady Stanley; two daughters, Mrs. Ford T. [Lady] Hardy, of New Orleans, and Mrs. Charles R. [Elizabeth] Andrews, Jr., of Canton, Ga.; a son, Stanley M. Henriques, of Jackson, Miss.; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
