Marie I. McCoy, 94, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Alverno surrounded by loving family.

A Mass will be celebrated at 2:00pm, Monday, December 30, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill McCoy, Mark Kaler, John O'Connor, Bob Frey, Mason Bynum and John Frey. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Additional visitation will be from 1:00pm until the mass time Monday at the church. Marie I. Ward was born on October 19, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Della (Podvin) Ward. She married Charles McCoy on June 28, 1944 in Riverside, California; he died December 15, 1974.

Marie was employed with the Clinton Community School District as a dietary aide, at Mercy Day Care, and also with the Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Marie was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, and active volunteer with the Mercy Auxiliary, enjoyed crocheting, making crafts, and most importantly spending time with her family.

Marie is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (John) Frey of Clinton, Patricia (Mark) Kaler of Frankfort, Illinois, her son: William (Liz) McCoy of Phoenix, Arizona, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a sister, a grandson, and a granddaughter.
