He married Marcy C. Schiffelbein on Aug. 21, 1934 in Victoria. She died Nov. 20, 1995.
He was a lifetime Victoria resident, farming from 1934 to 1942. He was a member of the Walker Army Air Base Fire Department from 1942 to 1947, and worked for Weisner Department Store in Hays for many years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Third and Fourth Degree, all of Victoria. He had been a resident of St. John's Rest Home, Victoria, since 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Covington, La., and Raymond Jr. of Victoria; two brothers, Wendelin of Rogers, Ark., and Alvin of Sun City, Ariz.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; nine sisters, Sister Ottilia Pfeifer, Sister Theodore Pfeifer, Sister Vincentia Pfeifer, Sister Baptista Pfeifer, Amelia Pfeifer, Sophie Druge, Regina Bennett, Pauline Davis and Clestina Ward.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, with Father Frank X. Grinko officiating; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. A vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday followed by a Victoria Knights of Columbus Third and Fourth degree rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday, all at Cline's Mortuary, Victoria. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Cemetery Fund, Victoria.
