John was the young son of Alba Herbert Annis and Almeda Philomene Bresse.

He was the 4th child of at least 17 children. His sibilings were Burleigh, Ray E, Louise, Olive, Mary Bridget, Alice, Lena, Louise Josephine Rose, Josiah Charles Eugene, Beatrice Eliza, twins Alba & Albert Eugene, and four unknown births/deaths (one before 1900, one female stillborn in 1897, and two before 1910).

Age: 1yr 8mos (per death certificate)

Cause of Death: Pneumonia

Note:
Death certificate lists his birth as July 1898 and death as 1900, both of which disagree with his headstone.

Since there is a birth/death certificate for a female Annis stillborn on Jan 30, 1897 in Charleston, VT to Alba & Almeda, it would appear that John was indeed born in 1898 and not June 1897 as on the headstone.

The death certificate lists death as April 22, 1900, at 1 year 8 months old. John and his brother Ray were buried on April 23, 1900. The death certificate was written on May 12, 1900.

All the dates on their headstone are wrong. His mother's Initials are also wrong on his stone as his mother was Almeda Philomene "Phoebe" Annis. Her maiden name was Bresse. This is also confirmed on multiple documents.
