Funeral services for Velma Ruth Meisenhelder, 92, of Heath, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, with Rev. Mr. Robert Ghiloni officiating. Interment will follow in Hanover Cemetery.

Mrs. Meisenhelder died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in the Heath Nursing Care Center. She was born March 7, 1913, in Central City, Ill., to the late James R. and Sarah Jane (Brown) Chism.

Velma was a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. She spent countless hours working on various crafts and was an avid bingo player.

Velma is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Francis Meisenhelder, of Newark, Jim and Virgie Meisenhelder, of Marne, and Dave and Rita Meisenhelder, of Newark; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Ernie Lamp, of Newark, Marjorie and Jim Macari, of Shelbyville, Ill., Clara and Howard Keller, of Hebron, Rita and Everett Stradley, of Newark, and Kathy and Bill Garrett, of Columbus; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-greandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Neva Chism of Dupo, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin G. "Red" Meisenhelder; her brothers, Huey, Leo, and Jim; and her sisters, Veda and Versa.

Friends will be received from 11 to 1 p.m., Friday, at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 N. Green Wave Drive, Newark, prior to the funeral service.
