Nettie Hughes, 90, of Owenton, died Monday at the Owenton Manor.

Born July 7, 1914, to the late Hiram and Lytha Sparks Reece, she was the former owner of the Jonesville Nursing Home, the Hughes Nursing Home in Owenton and ran a home health care service in the Thomas Trailer Park. She was also an aide at
the Owenton Memorial Hospital for many years. Nettie attended Faith Baptist Church and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Debra (Doug) Moore of Jonesville; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hughes, and her two sons, John "Bill" Thomas Hughes and Danny Ray Hughes.

Services will be held at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes at 1 p.m. today with Bro. David Wotier officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
