Brenda Jo Bean, age 62 of Clinton, MO, died Friday, December 27, 2013 at her home, following a long illness. Brenda was born on October 17, 1951 to Robert A. and Evelyn J. ‘Reed' Taylor in Kansas City, MO. After school, she attended Pharmacy School and Cosmetology College. Brenda worked at many different Salons, but the highlight of her career was owning and operating her own hair salon and serving as an Inspector with the State Cosmetology Department. Her true joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She will truly be missed by them all. Survivors include her mother, Evelyn J. Howard of the home; a brother, Robert Taylor (Teresa) of Godley, TX; six children, Stephanie Daniels of Clinton, MO, Mike Downey, Angela Atwood of Lee's Summit, MO, Brian Engle (Caroline) of Kansas City, MO, Brennon Wilkerson of Appleton City, MO, and Greg Prough (Sue) of Nevada, MO; eleven grandchildren, Aryel Daniels, Lauren Daniels, Chase Daniels, Emily DeBruin, Tristan Bennett, Keith Downey, Serenity Downey, Xavia Bell, Rylie Atwood, Liam Engle and Baelynn Prough; a great-grandchild, Nevaeh Hood; a sister-in-law, Connie Hughes of Godley, TX; and many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, her father, a brother, Bill Hughes, and a step-father, Hugh Howard. The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Consalus Funeral Home, Clinton. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
