William Howard (Bill) Lay passed away on Christmas Day in Milton Florida. Bill was born January 24, 1957 and was a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa County and a member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bliss and Nora Blackman Lay, a brother Bliss Eugene Lay and 2 sisters Sybil Lay Chavers and Mary Lay Fairey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Tina Manning Lay, 2 sons Chris and Adam Lay, 1 daughter Rachael Lay Samford (Justin) and 3 granddaughters, Kiley, Ella and Saralyn Samford. Brothers Holley (Pat) Lay of Dothan, Alabama, Jim (Patty) Lay of Madison, Georgia, Bob (Cheryl) Lay and Ray (Jerri) Lay both of Milton Florida.
He leaves many neices, nephews and cousins. We will all miss his smiling face and gentle nature.
The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jimmy Rinehart, will be held at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 3pm, with visitation one hour prior. Pallbearers will be brothers, Holley, Jim, Bob and Ray; and nephews, Robert Lay, Dylan Sweeney, Robin Fairey, and Fred Chavers. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. National Cremation & Burial Society has been entrusted with arrangements.
