MULLINS — Mrs. Myrtle Baxley Jackson Pakkanen, 87, died Monday, September 22, 2008 at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24 in Cedardale Cemetery.

Mrs. Pakkanen was born January 15, 1921 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Malcolm and Cally Parker Baxley. She was retired from AVM. Mrs. Pakkanen was a member of Langston Baptist Church in Conway.

Surviving Mrs. Pakkanen are four children, William Jackson (Jean) of Mullins, Sarah Lee (John) of Murrells Inlet, Jeanette Christmas (Paul) of Murrells Inlet and Earl Jackson (LaTrelle) of Florence; a sister, Lucille Parham (Jim) of Acworth, Ga.; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Pakkanen was predeceased by her first husband, Floyd Jackson and her second husband, Ernie Pakkanen.
