Patricia L. Mansfield, 78, of Decatur, passed away at 10:38 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the nursing center of Swiss Village Retirement Community at Berne.
Pat was born in Decatur on July 14, 1932, to Andrew B. and Alice (Kriegel) Appelman.
She married William H. Mansfield on January 6, 1953.
Pat was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Rosary Society.
She was the clerk-treasurer for the City of Decatur for 12 years.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William H. Mansfield of Decatur; four sons, Scott Mansfield of Las Molinos, California; Mark (Lynn) Mansfield of Everett, Washington; Mike (Lisa) Mansfield of Marysville, Ohio; and Brett Mansfield of Casselberry, Florida; one daughter, Kelly Jo (Chad) Everett of Burlington, Kentucky; three sisters, Miriam Stevens of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Norma "Tommy" Yost of Decatur; and Andrea (Tony) Allison of South Bend; 11 grandchildren;; and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two children, Lynn Marie and Anthony Joseph Mansfield, and by her stepmother, Bessie (Faurote) Appelman.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011, at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 2:30 p.m.
A 9:20 a.m. prayer service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father David Voors.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Decatur, at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church or to the Alperose Wing at Swiss Village.
