Funeral services for Pfc. Frank W. Dikeman, French Island, who was killed in action in Germany on April 25, 1945, will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, the Rev. L. B. Keegan officiating. Burial will be in the French Island Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral home Friday evening, the rosary to be at 7:30..


Dikeman is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Dikeman; one son, Frank, Jr.; and one daughter, Linda, all of French Island; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dikeman; four brothers, John, Clifford and George of La Crosse and Richard of Hokah, MN; and four sisters, mrs. Don Chesebro, Mrs. Leslie Scott and Mrs. Edward Konetchy of La Crosse and Mrs. Jay Eno of Valley, WI..


He was inducted into the service July 25, 1944. he was stationed at Fort Sheridan, IL, Camp Fannin, TX, and Fort Meade, MD, before going overseas Jan. 6, 2945. He served first in Belgium before going into Germany.
