Conway, SC...Dean Chestnut Holt, age 68, wife of William Laverne Holt, Sr. died, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Holt was born in Conway, SC, the daughter of the late Huey Chestnut and Grace Jordan Chestnut Hucks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by a brother; Walker D. "Buddy" Chestnut and two sisters; Barbara Housand and Jean Abrams.
Mrs. Holt was the matriarch of her family best known for being a devoted Mother, Wife, and Granny. She enjoyed spending time with those she loved and especially her grandchildren. She had a compassionate heart always visiting with her siblings and her neighbors in the community. Mrs. Holt was a retired Cosmetologist having owned and operated the Country Stylette on Hwy 905 for many years. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Conway.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 50 years are; three children Teresa Hardee and her husband Sammy, Judy Holt Stall, William "Sonny" L. Holt, Jr. and his wife Tracy all of Conway; five grandchildren, Bradley Hardee, Aaron Hardee, Jessica Holt, Ethan Holt and Mary Faith Holt all of Conway; one brother, Johnny Chestnut and his wife Verlie of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Lillie Welldinger, Reba Jeffords, and Kay Chestnut Timmons all of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday from Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robin King and Rev. Earl Elvis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
