RUTH I. CHESEBRO.

Ruth I. Chesebro, 89, of 1812 Caledonia St., died Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Center, La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse on June 12, 1907 to John and Louisa (Goyette) Dikeman. She married Don W. Chesebro in Winona on May 22, 1926 and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1968. She had been employed with the Rubber Mills; the Auto Lite for 25 years; Chesebro Corner Grocery; and as a seamstress for St. Francis for seven years..

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann (Matthew) Potter of Edgerton, WI, and Mary L. (James) Winder of La Crosse; two sons, Donald F. (Virginia) Chesebro of La Crosse and Delmer E. Chesebro of La Crosse; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Chesebro of Janesville; three sisters, Louise Scott, Evelyn )Jay_ Eno and Frances Konetechy, all of La Crosse; three brothers, Richard Dikeman of Florida, Clifford (Gert) Dikeman of La Crosse, and George (Alice) Dikeman of La Crosse; a sister-in-law, Millie Dikeman of La Crosse; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild..

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and two brothers, John and Frank..

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 22, 1997 at 11:30 a.m. at St. James the Less Catholic Church. The Reverend Rioger Scheckel will officiate. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 809 Gillette St., today from 6 to 8 p.m. with the rosary being said at 6:30 p.m.; or at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
