CHILD KILLED WHILE PLAYING IN DRIVEWAY
A 15 month old child died at Merrill last week Wednesday of head injuries suffered when struck by a car while playing in a neighbor's driveway.
Sherry Lynne Lawrence, daughter of Mrs. Leona Lawrence of Merrill, died at a LeMars hospital about five hours after the accident.
Authorities said the child was playing in the driveway at the Mike Hughes home when Hughes backed out his car without seeing her.
Survivors include the mother, a sister, Janice, a brother, Mickey, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bogner of Merrill.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist church at Merrill, and burial was in the cemetery at that place.
