When a young person is taken from us far before her time it makes you wonder if the good folks on the other side needed a soul with a high fun factor to shake things up a bit. As was the case on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 when Jennifer Lynn Johnson-Carr passed away unexpectedly at her home at the age of 38.

Jennifer was born in San Pablo on Feb. 28, 1975, and was a lifelong resident of Solano and Yolo counties, growing up in Rio Vista and Dixon. Jennifer graduated from Dixon High, UC Davis and obtained her master's degree in education from National University. As a passionate and tireless advocate for children, she was an outstanding science and PE teacher at Beamer Elementary in Woodland, where she developed and ran their after-school program.
Jennifer was an awesome wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her love of being with family and friends, travel, animals, gardening, community involvement and fostering children in need.
Jen will be deeply missed by her husband, Michael Carr; their children Tanner, Madison, and Penelope; her mother Marilyn (Sam); her father, G.M.J; grandma Goose; aunt Doney; sister Kim; brother Tim; and numerous extended family members and friends. The impact she has left on all that knew her will not fade with her passing, as Jen's enormous personality will be fondly remembered by all that had the pleasure of being part of her life.
