Mary Susan Pauley
Mary Susan Pauley, 91, formerly of Fayetteville, died Thursday, February 24, 2011, in Dade City, Fla., with her daughter by her side.
She was born on the family farm in Alkol, Lincoln County, on February 2, 1920, to Arvil and Roxie Curry Meadows, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Della Patterson, of Culloden. Her deceased siblings are Turman Meadows, Arlie Meadows, Nellie Lane, Ronald Meadows, Leo Meadows, Nina Chaffin, Reldo Meadows, and Matthew Meadows.

In Kentucky, on November 25, 1939, Mary married her beloved Wilmer W. Pauley, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1997. They had two children, a daughter, Dr. Dwillis Gwan Wallman (John) of Dade City, and deceased son, Michael Wetzel Pauley (Ann) of Princeton. Mary loved school and nurtured learning in her children by always being an active parent at home and in parent school organizations. Both of her children were educators.

Along with her husband, Mary was one of the founding members of the Barrett Nazarene Church. She was active teaching Sunday school and leading the youth group and Missionary Society. On Sundays, after church service, she could be found in her kitchen frying chicken for the pastor and any out of town visitors or family. After moving to Fayetteville, she joined the Oak Hill Nazarene Church where she continued to be a supportive and active church member in various groups. She and Wilmer enjoyed many summer trips with the national Nazarene retired church members group.

Her grandchildren, the highlight of her life, include John Paul Wallman (Deb), Mark Allen Wallman, Mary Louise Wallman, Matthew David Pauley (Sarah), and Benjamin Alexander Pauley (Vicki). The great-grandchildren brought her much delight during her final years. They are Lance Wallman, Nicholas Wallman, Silas Stutzel, Trey Pauley, Jacob Pauley, Gracelyn Pauley, Emily Pauley, Issac Pauley, Ryan Pauley, and Raygin Jenkins.
