Glenda Sue Cook, age 72 of Portage, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013. She was born on November 26, 1941 in Pana, IL to the late Monroe and Mildred (Harris) Walker. Glenda was a Portage resident since 1997, formerly of Lake Station. She loved her church and singing in the choir. Glenda also loved eating out with her family. She will be dearly missed. Glenda is survived by her husband, Jerry Cook of Portage; four children: Cindy Thompson of Port St. Lucie, FL, Tony Rust of Portage, IN, Brenda (Tom) Ordway of Goodland, IN, and Kelly Habhab (Kevin Garmon) of Edmonton, KY; two daughters-in-law: Kim Rust and Denise Brown; 15 grandchildren: Michael, Jillian, Jerry, Maegen, Gary, Kimberly, Danielle, David, Tanya, Chad, Johnna, Jacob, Holly, Tommy and Amanda; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters: Barbara (Marshall) Berry of Gary, IN and Kathy Buchanan of Marion, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, David Rust. In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Church of the Nazarene are preferred. There will be a funeral service on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 5360 Clem Rd., Portage, IN 46368 with the Rev. Mark Hostetler officiating.
