William Maraman Hatzell was the only son born to William Henry Hatzell and his wife Margaret Ann Smith Hatzell of Louisville, KY. He was born 28 December 1857 in Louisville. He died 23 January 1858 while his parents were visiting in Paducah, KY. He was brought back home to Louisville by carriage in a casket that his mother carried on her lap. He was originally buried at Eastern Cemetery in Louisville, but was later moved to the family plot at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
