Pleasant Garden: William (Bill) Norman Marion, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21 at Forbis and Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel, with the Rev. Lawrence Clapp officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Marion was born in Surry County on October 25, 1926 to Adam F. and Lula Mae Norman Marion. He served in the Navy during World War II, was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church, retired from Flowers Bakery and was owner/operator of Marion's Corner Mart.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Curtis, and Olivine Smith, and brothers, Clyde, Roy, and Frank.

Bill is survived by wife, Doris Sparks Marion, children, Terri Wadsworth of N. Myrtle Beach, Rodney Marion and Patsy of Randleman, Tamela Marion of Georgetown, SC, and Lisa Caudle of Greensboro, NC, grandchildren, Seth Marion and Lisa G. of Pleasant Garden, LaShea Murphy, Brooks Klaasmeyer, Holly and Brian Hammonds, Reid Wadsworth, and Austin Bain, brothers, Bobby Marion and Cecila of Norfolk, VA, Phillip Marion and Shirley of Greensboro, seven great-grandchildren.
