Robert Vinton Johnson, 81, of Hiawassee, Ga., and formerly of Moultrie, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Chatuge Nursing Home in Hiawassee.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Voyles officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Born Aug. 6, 1932, in Clearfield, Ky., he was the son of the late William Hardin Johnson and Flora Blair Johnson. He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran and was a retired telephone equipment installer with North Electric Co. and I.T.T. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his step-brothers and step-sisters, John Johnson, George Johnson, Hollie Johnson, Verdie Johnson, Arley Johnson, Goldy Eicher, Gladys Hill, Marie Utterback, Margaret Hardman, Elizabeth Watson, Avanelle Snyder, Eva Neipling, Ray Jenkins and Ben Jenkins.
Survivors include one son, Victor Robin Johnson and wife Melissa of Hiram, Ga.; one step-grandchild, Madison Johnson; and one step-sister, Ada Gregory of Clearfield, Ky.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, on Friday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
