Lowville loses a prominent and well known business man, and one who was held in high regard by a great many friends, In the death of Julius H. Wood, who parted away at Atlantic
City last Thursday afternoon. Julius H. Wood was a son of the
late L. Sprague and Mary Johnson Wood, and was born in Lowville, Jun 9, 1846. When a young man he was for several years engaged as clerk in the dry goods store of D C. West
& Co, and later was for several years associated with his father in the management of the Railroad Eating house in Lowville. Still later he succeeded the late S. A. Sixbury in
the general Insurance business, in which he had since been engaged. At Washington on May 24, 1888, Mr. Wood was united in marriage with Miss Fan B. Ray, who survives. One sister also survives, Mrs. C. P. Kirley, of Lowville. The funeral services were held from the late home of the deceased. Interment was made in the family plot at rural cemetery. For
many years he was a member of the vestry of Trinity Episcopal church and olerk of that boards He was a charter member of the Lowville Club and one of the board of governors
