Ira McCarty, 81, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in Farmington. Ira was born May 3, 1924, in Cooper, Texas, to Mack and Eula McCarty.

Ira was a World War II veteran. He served in the Philippians as a heavy equipment operator. He was a fun loving person who liked to fish, hunt and metal detecting.

Ira is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Patsy "Pat" Ruth McCarty and a daughter, Leasa Ann Woodall, 12 siblings and a granddaughter, Patsy Yvonne Brady.

Ira is survived by his children, Mike McCarty and wife, Glenda, James McCarty, Ron McCarty and wife, Sharon, Janeice Medders and husband, Charles, Janey Noble and husband, Jim. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren on the way, a sister Earline Dunn and husband, Charles, of Colorado City, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Ira will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Chapel, with viewing prior to service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Medders, Brian McCarty, Greg McCarty, Jeff McCarty, Trey Brady and James McCarty. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon McCarty, Megan McCarty, Monica McCarty, Penny Brady and William Woodall.

Ira is in the care of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 E. Ute Street, 325-8688.
