Cecil was born in Des Moines, IA but raised in Fresno, CA, graduating from Fresno Tech High School in 1941. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1943. He was an Armorer Gunner on a B-24 bomber serving in the South Pacific. He married the love of his life Mary in 1942, and stayed married until his passing. Cecil was an award winning photographer and a member of the Photographic Society of America. He was also the past president of the Fresno Camera Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan L. McKenzie and Susan E. McKenzie, his wife, Mary, and two children, a son Gary and a daughter Terry. He also leaves a sister, Hazel Christensen and her husband Don; plus numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members, Cynthia Beaupre and Ryan Lamar.
A Memorial Service was held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home. CHAPEL OF THE LIGHT
