Sarah Ann Paul, 77, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Mesa Springs Nursing Home in Abilene, Texas.

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 24, 1936, she was the daughter of Bernice (Johnson) and Gordon Witherspoon, and was a longtime resident of Abilene, TX. Sarah was a loving wife and mother, and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Paul in 1996, and her parents.

Survivors include her husband, William A. "Bill" Paul of Abilene; son, David G. Paul and his wife Christine of Abilene; daughter, Vicki Podesta and her husband Derek of Watauga, Texas; grandson, Carson Podesta; and sister, Betty Brega and husband Charles of Englewood, Colorado.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Rev. Jim Ritter officiated, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
