Helene Lewis, 88, of Bloomington was born on 12th May, 1925 in Russia. She passed away peacefully at her home on December 2, 2013.
She was a former employee of Sarkes Tarzian, General Electric and Griner Engineering in Bloomington. She loved to shop and garden.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Chalmer Herbert Lewis Jr., her eldest son, Edward Lewis, and her mother, Gabriele Stankevwitsch.
She is survived by three sons, Gregory Lewis, Philip (Donna) Lewis, and Timothy (Carol) Lewis. Helene had eight grandchildren, Sean Lewis, Nicole Lewis, Eric (Nicole) Lewis, Jason Lewis, Becky (James) Drobnis, Melissa Lewis, Timothy (Sarah) Lewis Jr. and Elizabeth (James) Samuels. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren; Kaiden Samuels, Mason Samuels, Violet Lewis and Timothy Lewis III.
Funeral services will be 1:30pm Friday, December 6, 2013 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401. Pastor Harold Godsey will preside. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30pm Friday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
