Dee E. Williams died in Muskogee at the Eastgate Village Healthcare Center where he received excellent care & made many friends. on December 24, 2013 at 91 years of age. Dee was born December 8, 1922 in Hackett, Arkansas to William "Bill" Williams and Cleo Williams-Masters. He grew up in Okmulgee and was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church for fifteen plus years in the 60's and 70's while owning and operating Dee's Body Shop at 13th and Wood Drive. He also pastored at Nuyaka Baptist Church for a while and did many revivals in the surrounding area. He loved his beagles and enjoyed catfishing and hunting and always shared whatever he caught. Dee was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served during WWII and was a member of the VFW.
Dee was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Ann Williams, who was the mother of his children, one daughter D'Anne Klein, four brothers: Harvey Williams, Bill Williams, Bob Williams and Elmer Williams and two sisters: Pauline Sandifer and Sarah Carter. He is survived by two daughters: Pat Horn and husband Jeff of Checotah, Debbie Morrow and Larry Morrow of Okmulgee, six grandchildren: Paula Cordes, Susan Rainbolt, Kenneth Carter, Shane Morrow, Amy Way and Dale Brewer, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, Dora Williams who was his wife of thirty years, his companion dog Molly and a host of other relatives and good friends.
A funeral service celebrating Dee's life will be held at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Dale Litsey officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casket bearers are Kenneth Carter, Shane Morrow, Jeff Horn, Larry Morrow, Darrell Way and Dale Brewer.
