Graveside services for Ann Gilbert, 66, Arp, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Shiloh Cemetery, Omen Community, with the Rev. Jackie Culpepper officiating, under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Ann was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Clinton, Ark., to the late Howard and Bertha Harris Brooks. She passed away on Dec. 23, 2013, at The Hospice of East Texas HomePlace.
She was retired and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Duane Gilbert, of Arp; daughter and son-in-law, Marnie and Kevin McElroy, of Troup; sons, James Dowdle, of Arp, and John Thedford, of Coos Bay, OR.; siblings, Janie Culpepper, of Pickton, Howard Brooks III, of Bullard, Kathie Sprayberry, of Bullard, and Ruthie Peppers, of Bullard; grandchildren, Kyle Neal, Dustin Dowdle, and Hunter Dowdle; and great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Arizona Faye Dowdle, and Zoey Jane Dowdle.
The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, 75701.
