BETTING PROSECUTIONS.
William Francis Chatfield was charged at the Brunswick Court on Wednesday with having at Brunswick on May 6 acted in the conduct of a common gaming house in Merri Street.
"We will not crush the defendant," said Mr. Brown, P.M. "He will be fined £10, with £2 costs." Chatfield was allowed 14 days in which to pay the fine.
