She married Walter Edgar Daye, son of John Larkin Day and Sarah Margaret Curtis, on June 9, 1910 in Caldwell County. They had four children together: Lester Gelon, Vera May, Vander E., and Walter Edgar Jr.
Etta and Walter lived in several different towns within North Carolina. In 1910, just after their marriage they were living in Patterson located Caldwell County before moving to Hickory in Catawba County before 1920. As of 1930, they were living in Silver Creek in Burke County and had moved to Morganton by 1940. The 1940 Census lists Etta as working on her own account in a local Retail Grocery Store in Morganton.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents as well as most of her siblings. Etta Elizabeth Fleming Daye passed on December 3, 1976 in Burke County. She is buried with Walter at Forest Hill Cemetery in Morganton.
