John's father was William R. Duke (1834)and his mother was Mary (Panther) Duke (1834). John was married to Louise (Shelton) Duke (b. 1856 in Missouri and died 21 Feb., 1927 in Winchester, Tennessee) I do not know where Louise was buried. John & Louise had at least nine children . John was my Great Grandfather and William R. Duke was my Great Great Grandfather . William was married to Mary (Panther) Duke. I have a picture of Louise.
John & Louise were married 01 Aug., 1874. One of their sons was James Henry Duke who was married to Meda (Hall) Duke and they had several children one of them was my father Arthur Lloyd Duke.
