Jesse John Bommarito, Sr., 82. of Albion, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Tendercare in Albion under the care of his loving family and Hospice. He was born March 12, 1923 in Albion to Joseph and Josephine (Maniaci) Bommarito. Jesse graduated from Albion High School and in 1942 married Juanita Marie Tillotson, who preceded him in death in January 2005. Jesse served in World War II in the Pacific Theater and returned to Albion, working at Albion Malleable/Hayes-Albion for 45 years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also fishing, woodworking and gardening. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, VFW Albion Post 3672 and the Neighborhood Watch Committee.

He is survived by his children; son, Jesse J. (Veronica) Bommarito, Jr. of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania; daughters, Antoinette (Ted) Knickerbocker of Springport and Mary T. Campa of Albion; six grandchildren, Christine Augustine of Boothwyn, Thomas (Jessica) Herrin of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, Ryan Knickerbocker of Chicago, Illinois, Lisa (David) Koster of Chicago, Christopher J. (Nicolle) Campa of Lansing, Jennifer (Sam) Taylor of Albion; nine great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Joseph, Christopher and Casey Augustine, T. J. and Jamie Herrin, Nathan and Christopher G. Campa and Abigail Taylor; sisters, Josephine Cusumano, Rosalie Serra and Leanora Pesonen, and many wonderful nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, George Priest. His wife, Juanita, brothers, James, Clement and Steve, sister, Rose Weeks and great-granddaughter, Lilyann Taylor preceded him in death.
