Emma came from Breitscheidt,Nassau,Germany in 1845 at the age of 3 with father,Jost Heinrich Goebel, mother,Anna Maria nee Kolb/baby, brother,Friedrich and sister,Marianna per Passenger & Immigration List Index,1500'-1900's.
Emma married Wilhelm Graf July 15,1860 and had 1 son and 4 daughters. Died of stomach cancer per death certificate.

List of settlers who arrived Fall 1845, on sailship AUGUSTE MELINE, includes:Jost Heinrich Goebel and wife Anna Marie nee Kolb, from Breitscheidt,Nassau,and children:Henriette,Emma,Friedrich.

Jost Heinrich Goebel's wife Anna Maria nee Kolb died on ship and was buried at sea. Probably due to chld birth since a baby was listed on a record. He arrived at Indianola with three children, Henriette,Emma,and Friedrich.
Friedrich died at Indianola of Yellow Fever after several years. Heinrich Goebel married a widow with three children, Mrs.Katherine Doerr. In THis marriage they had four more children, Heinrich,Ferdenant,Bertha,and Ernestina. The two girls died while teenagers of Typhoid Fever.

THe two paragraphs above accompanied a letter(in german) written in 1855 to Jost Heinrich Goebel from his brother,George, who lived in Chicago,inquiring about Henriette and Emma. This was passed down from Lena Peter, Emma's daughter.
