Richard Langdon, 83, of Blue Springs, MO formerly of Raytown, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Manor. He was born July 11, 1930 to Daniel J. and Helen E. (Shea) Langdon in Lincoln, NE. Richard was united into marriage to Jean L. Stevens in Lincoln, NE on September 7, 1963.

Richard worked as a Claims Authorizer for the United States Government in the Social Security Administration, where he worked for 22 years and retired in 1988. He served his country during the Korean War as an Airman of the United States Air Force. Richard loved spending time with his friends and family.

Richard is survived by his son, Steven Henderson of Polo, MO; daughter, Nicolette (Jim) Branham of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Patricia Langdon of Cypress, CA; grandchildren, Shaun R. Branham of Overland Park, KS, Jeremy S. Branham of Ellsworth, KS, Jason L. Branham of Springfield, MO, Dawn Ball of Peru, New York; 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; daughter, Jere Langdon; sister, Dorothy E. Hall; and parents, Daniel and Helen Langdon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am, Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4313 SW State Route 7 Blue Springs, MO, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln, NE. Contributions in memory of Richard may be made to Crossroads Hospice or Catholic Charities.
