"Helen M. "Lenie" Foley passed away peacefully at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilkes Barre, PA she was the daughter of the late John T. and Helen O'Donnell McGavin. Her beloved husband Bob passed away in February of 1998 after a seven year illness, during which she cared for him at home.

Lenie was an active member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ephrata for over 60 years. She attended mass daily. Lenie was very active in the Ephrata Community and her children's schools as she and her husband raised their family.

Later in life she was active in the Ephrata Golden Years Club, the Yearlings group at her church and was an active supporter of the Ephrata Performing Arts Center.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and socializing with her many dear friends

She is survived by her sister Mrs. Betty McDonald and her husband Gene of Toms River, NJ, a daughter, Nellie Jane of Philadelphia, a daughter Marianne wife of Michael McGuire of Conshohocken PA, and a Son Robert Michael Jr. of Buford GA. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Michael T. Foley, Grace E. McGuire and Robert M. McGuire as well as numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren

In addition to her husband and parents, Lenie was preceded in death by her four older brothers John, Thomas, William and Paul and an older sister Mary.

Friends may visit with the family from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, December 27th at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata, PA.

Following the visitation, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. and Final Commendation and Farewell will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Wilkes Barre, PA.

In lieu of flowers, Lenie requested that donations be made to The Franciscan Missionary Union, Franciscan Monastery, 135 W. 31st St., New York, NY 10117-0710.

Services are under the care of Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, Ephrata, PA."
