Virgie was the daughter of William B Tinker and Mary Ann Jones. She was only a toddler when her father died, and her mother remarried to William Henry Jones. She married Joseph Christopher White on Dec. 31, 1912 in Erwin, and this marriage produced 3 children, two of whom died in infancy. One daughter survived. Her name was Virginia May White. The marriage dissolved in divorce and Virgie did not remarry, although Joseph did.
