Jimmie Brown Boyd, 75, died Sunday May 19, 2013, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

She was born in Leflore County June 21, 1937, to the late H.A. and Lillian Era Thompson Brown, Sr. and resided in the Phillipston Community most of her life. She graduated from Morgan City High School and was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper for Charles Harris Cotton company for over 25 years. She was a member of Phillipston Baptist Church and a devoted mother and grandmother, and her hobbies were quilting and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thompson Boyd.

Visitation was held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Phillipston Baptist Church Cemetery in Sidon.

Burial was in Phillipston Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by a son, Tommy (Vicki) Boyd of Hot Springs, Ark.; daughter, Deverah 'Dee' Boyd of Birmingham, Ala.; a grandchild, Jason Botsford and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Phillipston Veterans Memorial Fund, Marvin Alderman, 1103 Saffold Avenue, Greenwood, MS 38930.
