Funeral services for James M Hamby, age 80 years, who died very suddenly of a stroke Wednesday morning at 4:30 a.m. will be held at the M E Church at 2 p.m. today, Thursday.
He'd been confined to a wheelchair for many years. He made his home with his daughter, Mrs S G Sutton for the last few years and it was there he died. Her home is 2 miles out on Genesis Road.
Mr Hamby is survived by a son, Willie, of Spring City; a sister, Mrs John Q Burnett, Crossville; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren besides Mrs Sutton.
The remains were laid to rest in the City cemetery.
