George Nicholas was the son of Jerome D. & Mary Martha Martin Brady. He married Nellie Gray Raines, the daughter of James & Paulina Hicks Raines, on February 17, 1881 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. The couple were the parents of Viola, Ethel, Nellie, Guy, Grace and Klein Raines Brady.

By 1900, the couple had separated. In the 1900 census, he was residing in Covington, Kentucky. His marital status was listed as "Married". His wife's marital status in the 1900 census of Lincoln County, Kentucky was listed as "Widowed".

•Obituary-Mr. L.D. Brady arrived here last week from Matfield Green, Kansas, with the remains of his brother, George Nicholas Brady, who died at that place after a two weeks' illness. The body was laid to rest in the family burying ground after short services by Rev. J.W. Hagin.
