Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 28, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Rose Maxine Taylor was born September 2, 1928, in Pottawattamie County, the daughter of Ralph and Emma (Schmielau) Taylor. She married Elmer Lawrence Allen on September 3, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Elmer preceded her in death on October 28, 2001. She worked as an office manager for Peoples True Value for 20 years. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was a volunteer bookkeeper for Our Saviors Lutheran Church for several decades.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah (Craig) Anderson of Columbia, MO, and Denise Allen and Darla (Craig) Fricke, both of Cedar Rapids; one son, Dennis Allen of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Fern Kelsay of Fayetteville, AR, and Daisy Wiemann of Lincoln, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great-grandson, Charles E. Hanford, and two sisters, Violet Hitt and Lilly Palmer.
