Gerald "Jerry" Duane Quenzer, age 56, of Baker, Montana passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2002 in Billings, Montana.

Jerry was born on March 26, 1947 in Baker, the son of Albert and Florence (Hoenke) Quenzer. He was raised and attended schools in Baker, graduating from Baker High School in 1966. Following his graduation, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. After his honorable discharge in 1970, he returned to Baker and worked at the Quenzer Ford Garage where he worked until 1986. He then began working as a mechanic for the Fallon County Shop. Jerry was forced to retire due to ill health and has remained in Baker ever since.

Jerry loved sports, playing football and basketball in his early years, and later becoming an avid golfer and bowler. He especially loved watching Dana play football and basketball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on his home. He loved Christmas' with his kids and grandkids. Jerry would never miss his morning walks and would often stop and visit with friends he saw along the way. He was member of the American Legion and the American Lutheran Church in Baker.

Jerry is survived by his son, Dana Quenzer and his fiancé Heather Hay of Dickinson, ND, his daughter, Monica and her husband Bob of Worland, WY, three grandchildren; Robby, Ryan and Brittney, a sister, Beverly Anderson of Baker, MT, a brother, Floyd Quenzer and his wife Michael of Thermopolis, WY, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, December 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Prayer services will be held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Baker. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Plevna.
